Youth swim lessons start with the same fundamental skills pre-school level swimmers begin with. However older swimmers begin progressing to more refined swimming as they become stronger and more coordinated. After the core fundamentals are established more complex swimming strokes are completed. Youth lessons begin to demand greater focus on swimming ability and introduce basic fitness training.

The Beginner No prior experience required.
Objectives
- Safety- Introduction to Pool environment- and structured lessons- Pool rules.
- Water adjustment- Breath control and blowing bubbles- face in water.
- Body position-front/back- Basic arm and leg movement.
- Front/back float – Recover from horizontal to vertical position.

The Progressive Beginner Prerequisites
- Submerge face for 3 seconds, 5 times consecutively
- Front streamlined glide 5yrds-roll onto back 5 seconds
- Streamlined glide; front and back with flutter kick.
Objectives
- Safety- self help skills- survival float/treading water
- Strengthen streamline position to 10yrds
- Body position-side
- Rhythmic breathing
- Introduce front crawl, back crawl, elementary backstroke, breast stroke without adjusting instinctive movement of arms and legs

The Intermediate Prerequisite: Demonstrate a basic understanding of the 4 strokes for 5yds each.
Objective
- Safety – awareness of potential water hazards
- Increased breath control
- Introduce side stroke
- Break apart components of each stoke
- Correct arm/leg movement
- Display concept of coordinating all 5 strokes -5yds. each.

The Advanced Prerequisite: Demonstrate all 5 strokes – 10yds each – total 50yrds.
Objective
- Safety- Reaching/throwing assists
- Correct breath/arm/leg action for each stroke.
- Intro to open/flip turns
- Timing and coordination of all 5 strokes
- Endurance swimming
- Demonstrate all 5 strokes- 20yrds each-total 100yrds.

Stroke Reinforcement Prerequisite: Must pass Level 4
Objectives
- Back to basics
- Correct bad habits
- Increase endurance
- Improve performance
This level will be taught by our most experienced instructors who will rotate to give your child a well rounded approach.
