Club Policies

The following rules, regulations and policies are provided by the management of this club such that the facility will be kept clean, safe and as pleasant as possible for all members and guests. Thank you for your cooperation.

Membership Rules and Regulations

Membership Cards: Members must present their own valid membership cards to the front desk personnel upon entering the club. Members wishing to use the club facilities without their membership cards will be required to provide a photo ID. Lost membership cards will be replaced for a $3.00 fee. Lost or stolen cards must be replaced.

Conduct: As a courtesy to and for the safety of others, Members/Guests are asked to; refrain from using their cell phones in workout areas, observe time limits on cardiovascular equipment during prime time hours, or if others are waiting, share equipment with others, refrain from “saving” or reserving equipment for anticipated use, refrain from using equipment that is not functioning properly, and report malfunctions to club personnel, no screaming, yelling or profanity allowed, absolutely no abuse of the equipment or facility, including, but not limited to dropping or throwing dumbbells or weights.

Dress Attire: Club members and guests will abide by and fully comply with the club dress codes for proper attire on the club premises. Street clothes/shoes may not be worn while exercising. Closed toe athletic shoes must be worn at all times on the gym floor. Protective eye wear on racquetball court is required.

Professional Services: Professional Services (Personal/Group Fitness Training, Massage, Tennis Instruction) at the club is exclusively provided by employees or contractors of the Shrewsbury Athletic Club. Members or guests may not provide professional services or solicit business from members in the club.

Lockers: Members and guests should not bring valuables (including money) onto the club premises. It is strongly advised that members and guests bring padlocks for use with the lockers provided. All padlocks on non-rental lockers must be removed before you leave the club. All members and guests understand that the Shrewsbury Athletic Club will not be liable for loss, or theft of or damage to the personal property of members and guests.

Children: While in the facility, children must be supervised by a non-exercising adult.

Guests: A person may attend as a guest with proper photo ID. Guests are required to sign in at the Member Services Desk and pay the $10 guest fee. Guests must be accompanied by their sponsoring member and are subject to the same rules and regulations as the members of the club. The club will always welcome guests and encourage members to bring guests to the club.

Non-Discrimination: The Shrewsbury Athletic Club, members, and guests will not discriminate against any person because of sex, race, creed, age, color, sexual orientation, national origin, or ancestry.

Promotional Materials: Members grant permission to the Shrewsbury Athletic Club for photos and testimonials to appear in club brochures, newsletters, videos, Web Site, advertising and any other promotional mediums. Full names will never be used in such promotional materials unless specifically given permission by the member to do so.

Change of Facilities: The Shrewsbury Athletic Club reserves the right to change their facilities from time to time, to eliminate some of their facilities, services or classes or to add others. It is anticipated that from time to time a part of a club, or the entire facility will be temporarily unavailable to members while repairs, renovations or special events take place. Management will make every effort to minimize any disruption to members during these periods.

Change of Rules: The Shrewsbury Athletic Club has the right to change these rules at any time. The club will make its best efforts to notify members of any change, and will consider that a member has accepted the changes if such member keeps his or her membership.

Program Cancellation Policy: A full refund will be given if canceled 48 hours or more prior to the start date of the session. No refund will be given with less than 24 hour notice. No credit will be given for classes you are unable to attend, unless otherwise noted by department director. Private Lesson: Lesson fee can be charged at full rate if less than 24 hours notice is given. No Show: Will be charged the full rate for any program or lesson. Make-Ups: Any class canceled by the Shrewsbury Athletic Club will have a scheduled make-up. There are no make-ups for classes you miss, unless otherwise noted.

Violations: Failure and/or refusal to abide by the rules and regulations set forth herein shall result in loss of membership privileges without a refund of any monies, if , in the sole opinion of the club, the violation by the members or by his or her guests is detrimental to the general well-being of the club.

Cancellation Policy: All cancellations must be requested in writing prior to your requested cancellation date. It must be received All membership dues, payments, and outstanding bills must be brought current prior to cancellation. Monthly EFTs can be processed if request is in after the first the month.

All Program Makeup Policy

We will do our best to provide makeups for any programs which are cancelled during a session. Generally makeups will be scheduled at or near the end of a session or specifically during a school vacation week. There will absolutely be no refunds given if you fail to attend or are unable to attend a scheduled makeup. Additionally, only classes cancelled by the Club will potentially have makeups. Makeups will not be provided when a session is missed because of illness or a conflicting schedule. For required instructor to student ratio, drop-ins into similar classes at different scheduled times will not longer be permitted.
